Historique :	Ce type de planeur a été dessiné en Allemagne en 1938 par Hans Jacob. Cet appareil a été construit en Allemagne en 1943 par Jacobs Scheweyr. L'absence d'industrie française de planeurs a conduit la France à s'approprier des planeurs au titre de dommages de guerre après l'interdiction du vol à moteur en Allemagne par le traité de Versailles. Cet appareil a reçu le n° 3 qui correspond au 3e Weihe pris en compte par l'Etat français et n'est en aucun cas un numéro de série. L'appareil porte la couleur rouge et des bandes tricolores qui correspondent à la couleur que portait l'avion lors du record d'E. Nessler en 1955 (les bandes tricolores ne sont peintes que sur les avions des as). Légué par le musée de l'air et de l'espace au G.P.P.A., cet appareil effectue régulièrement quelques vols. A la suite de la fermeture de l'aérodrome d'Angers-Avrillé, l'association (G.P.P.A.) a transféré, à compter du 12 septembre 1998, son siège et ses appareils à Marcé.
