Précision sur l'inscription :	Epitaphe gravée sur l'oeuvre : M. Hercules Gruau, prestre, curé de Lézigné, qui décéda le 8 janvier 1702, dont le corps repose dans le cimetière de cette paroisse, a fondé tous les samedis de l'année à perpétuité une messe dans cette église devant l'autel de la Ste Vierge avec la recommandation de son âme aux assistants, avant la préface ; pour ce a légué à Mrs les curés de Lézigné quinze livres de rentes sur la métairie de la Guindonnière et la maison de la Préverie, par testament passé par Me Pierre Babineau, notaire au comté de Duretail, le 23 décembre 1702. Priez Dieu pour lui. Mis à la diligence de Mre François Leduc, son successeur.
