Précision sur l'inscription :	Inscription au revers du tableau : Don inaliénable fait à l'église et chapelle Sainte-Madeleine de Champtoceaux, église réédifiée sous le vocable Immaculée Conception, patronne secondaire, ainsi qu'il est (...) gravé et scellé dans la première pierre du pilier droit, sous les arcades de la chapelle de la très sainte Vierge, du sanctuaire et du transept. 11 9bre 1870, 73e anniversaire de la naissance du (...) curé Buret, curé pendant 40 ans et 6 mois, du 3 juin 1826 au 1er décembre 1866. Résidence non interrompue, après quoi, infirme et démissionnaire, retiré avec sa soeur à Nantes où il a pu se procurer ce tableau a lui connu depuis longtemps.
